I’m asking because just under $10,000 stands between us and closing our goal of raising $75,000 for The Great American Lie. For the past 5 years, I have seen how our country has been increasingly hurting. One in five American children and one in eight American women live in poverty – despite us being one of the wealthiest countries on earth. Our increasing inequality has created deep social, economic, and political divides. This inequality is rooted in our belief systems with the cultural pendulum swinging too far towards revering things we consider “masculine,” like individualism, power, and money, at the expense of things we consider “feminine,” like empathy, care, and collaboration. We must disrupt this status quo.
