Sexism has a price tag. On average, women had to work 99 days into 2018 from the start of 2017 to make the same as men made on average in 2017 alone, which gets us to today, Equal Pay Day. And while white women make 80 cents for every dollar a white man makes, it’s even worse for women of color – African-American women make just 63 cents, and Latina women make only 54 cents. This is atrocious. So today, we’re using our collective voices to raise awareness for the average 20% gender wage gap. Because we believe equal work always deserves equal pay.

There are many factors outside of one’s control that make up the gender wage gap. So we’re happy to see our partner, LUNA® Bar, the first nutrition bar for women, shine a light on the one thing women can do to help ensure the fair compensation they deserve – negotiate. Only 30% of women negotiate their salary. That’s why LUNA® Bar and the American Association of University Women have partnered to provide salary negotiation tools and resources. Because we all agree, everything’s negotiable, except equality.
