It’s Time To Stand With ALL Families

Because of your actions last week, Trump signed an executive order addressing family separation. Despite this small win, the crisis at the border continues. There is still no plan to reunite separated families and the executive branch proposes to illegally detain children (with their parents) indefinitely.

The incarceration of families fleeing persecution and violence is unjust and represents a crisis of our national values. It is wrong and it always has been. Whether it’s the resettlement of Native Americans, Japanese internment camps, the prison industrial complex, or the current family separation and detainment today at our borders, our laws continue to disenfranchise and imprison communities of color. And as people of conscience, we must speak out.

That’s why this week, we’re asking you to join us on June 30th and stand up against the cruelty taking place in our names on our southern border. Let us recognize these asylum seekers as what they are – people, refugees, neighbors, family members, and friends. Let us stand with them and demand their human rights. Together, we will build a more caring world that honors and recognizes our common humanity.

Onwards,
