Community organizations screening

With a Community Screening License, you can bring Miss Representation to a local movie theatre, community center, house of worship, film festival, or even a moonlit night at a park!

Interested in using the film and/or its messaging in an educational context? As a community organization or government agency, you can order our curriculum and additional resources for ongoing use in your programs.

NONPROFIT AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY COMMUNITY SCREENING LICENSE

BEST BUY IF

You would like to screen and discuss Miss Representation with a group of 30 people or more.

WHAT IT IS

A one-time public performance of the film (your license is date and site specific), outside of a private home. It costs $350 for the first screening and $150 for any subsequent event hosted by the same organization, at any time after the first screening. You can charge admission, team up with other organizations to split the cost, and invite as many people as you’d like.

WHO IT’S FOR

Nonprofits, government agencies, community organizations, professional associations, and film festivals booking a screening at a local venue. This is also an option for schools that are hosting off-campus screenings or individuals/small groups that wish to host an event.

WHAT YOU GET

  • A copy of the film on-loan in one of the following formats:
    • DVD
    • Blu-Ray (+$15)
    • DCP (+$30)
  • One full-size movie poster (US only)
  • 50 promotional postcards with “take action” steps
  • Community planning and discussion guide
  • Custom Eventbrite page
  • Promotion on our website calendar
  • Templates for a press release, local calendar listing, and flyer
  • Film images and logo

We’ve created these materials to help you promote your event, create an engaging conversation following the screening, and facilitate ongoing community engagement. In addition, we’ll list your screening on our geo-tagged screenings calendar.

Please order your license when you have a date and venue confirmed for your screening. We use this information to create your license agreement. And don’t worry, we’ll mail your materials within 2-3 weeks of your screening.

NONPROFIT AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY SMALL GROUP YOUTH LICENSE

You want to show and discuss Miss Representation with classroom-sized groups of youth at your location.

WHAT IT IS

License for nonprofits and government agencies with youth programs that includes our educational DVD and curriculum for K-12th grade. This license offers ongoing usage rights for classroom-sized groups (approximately 30 students or less) in either one location (for $150) or up to five locations (for $350) or up to ten locations (for $500).

WHO IT’S FOR

Nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations that work with small groups of youth and want to utilize the curriculum for ongoing programming. This license is site-specific (so it’s limited to one, five or ten locations) and includes the rights for use in perpetuity.

WHAT YOU GET

  • The Miss Representation curriculum (PDF with 13 lesson plans for K-5th grade students, 16 lessons for middle school, and 21 lessons for high school and post-secondary students)
  • The nonprofit youth DVD, which includes:
    • The feature film (90 minutes, appropriate for ages 13+)
    • Supplemental educational clips to accompany the curriculum
