Donald Trump Said, “Nobody Has More Respect for Women Than I Do.” Time To Prove It.

During the campaign, President Donald Trump said more than once, “Nobody has more respect for women than I do.” While his actions and language have shown otherwise, we are calling on him, now that he has taken office, to prove that he is a man of his word. That’s why we’re partnering with Promundo and a group of leaders – activists, legislators, artists, writers, fathers, sons, husbands, and citizens – to call on President Trump to support the women of this country and the world.

We’re calling on men in general and the President in particular to join us in challenging and overcoming misogyny and sexism. It’s not a zero sum game. We will all benefit from affordable high-quality childcare, accessible reproductive health services, equal pay, and paid family and medical leave. And, we can all agree that we need to expand our work nationally and internationally to ensure that no woman or girl is harassed, beaten, or assaulted.

We need President Trump to show us that nobody has more respect for women and girls than he does. Show us that he is a man of integrity who believes in equality. Show us that he agrees that men need to speak out and stand up and speak out against inequality and violence against women. Show us that as our President, he will #BeAModelMan.

That’s why this week, we’re asking you to join us and sign this petition calling on President Trump to respect women and #BeAModelMan. Together, let’s demand that the President of the United States represent all women, including Muslim, immigrant, Latinx, black, Native, poor disable, and queer women.
